3D flowers

Hello sweeties,

So, last month I bought a polymer flower nail wheel (for those interested, I took these ones). I was basically looking for the fruit one, but didn’t find it. Anyway, I was really excited about trying it and then I realized that it was pretty thick, I was like “man, how am I going to put those stuff on my nails?”.

Make sure that each previous coat is dry before applying the following. I don’t know if what I’m saying is clear so here’s a pic :

3D flowers 3 © WinaI used H&M scented nail polish in Green Apple (I’ll review it soon), Gold by Gilles Blue Lagoon (I think it’s discontinued?) and H&M Yellow of the nail polish set. Then I drew the gold lines with H&M Golden Treasure. I eventually *glued* the flowers with my Essie All In One Base. And I top coated all that with Essie Good To Go, as usual.

I couldn’t keep it for more than 2 days. The feeling was just too weird when my fingers were touching my nails, I always wanted to scratch it off ha. The result is pretty fun though.

The First Days of Spring

Hello sweeties,

Yeepee, Spring! Spring and rain. Less yeepee. But yeepee anyway because I did my first *real* nail art thing.

That’s not the neatest work in the world, but I feel pretty proud about it. I thought it would look worse ha. It’s not too bad after all.

Here’s the steps for those happy feeling nails :
– Base with All in one from Essie
– 3 coats (yes, 3) of Muted Lavender from NYX
– Cloudy effect with white nail polish applied with a make up sponge
– Branches drawn with a thin brush and black nail polish + Smoldering from NYX to soften (but you can barely see it, meh)
– Flowers done with dots of white nail polish, Nude Peach from NYX and St-Tropez from Mavala for the pinks
– Topcoat with Good to go from Essie

Et voilà.

You’re now ready to watch Noah and The Whale’s film for The First Days of Spring, their best album. One of the best on Earth ever, actually.

Polka doting at midnight

Hello sweeties,

I said that I’ll talk about my nails today, so here it is. But first, let me tell you my past days nails story.

3 weeks ago, I had galaxy nails. The week after I wanted to remove the nail polish. But I realized that I didn’t have nail polish remover anymore, after doing half work. So for 2 weeks, I was like this :

This is ridiculous

Harsh. My boyfriend laughed at me. I sent that pic to my nail mentor and she was ashamed of me (because, yes, I have a nail mentor, hi Maëlle!). Now I have nail polish remover again and my life is blessed.

I wanted to do something cute and simple and that was matching with my brand new backpack and wallet. I opted for polka dot nails, the simplest nail art thing in the world. And when I say it’s easy, it IS easy. I’m probably the clumsier person you could ever meet. I can’t do anything with my fingers without nearly injuring someone, myself included. So, trust me when I say it’s easy. Anyway, here’s the results :

Looks nice eh? I like it, it’s fun and it was fun to do as well. Here’s a tutorial :

1- Apply a base. Always do. It protects your nails in a general way and it prevents the colour from going right on them (ever had orange or blue nails after removing the nail polish?). Mine is the all in one base from Essie.

But try to apply it better than I do

3- Let it dry. Then take a thin brush (or a toothpick or a hair slide), distemper the extremity with another colour and press it on the nail so that it makes a dot.

Tip : start from the center of the nail and draw a vertical line of dots before doing the sides, it’s easier and the result looks more homogeneous.

yay!
